Valentina asks Elspeth to take out her soul so that everybody will think that she has died. Now that I’m writing my review I lean toward four stars. It made the bestseller charts when it was published in the United States in While Niffeneger clearly did her research on Highgate Cemetery, it was delivered in sections that felt more like lectures than quality fiction.
Overall, I enjoyed it because it’s one of those stories that stays with you after you’ve finished the last page. Still with this book, I get the feeling that at least I have been there, not completely but partially. Maybe it is just as well, since the characters stay near a graveyard or work in it.
The book I’m looking for is one that winds its way into your heart and soul, takes you deep into the characters’ lives and then squashes your heart, rips it from your chest and leaves it beating weakly on the table while you weep.
The story opens with Elspeth succumbing to leukemia in a London hospital. She learned her way convincingly around the cemetery, but she’s less certain outside its gates. Lists with This Book.

Without a doubt Niffenegger’s prose is symmeyry, her place descriptions London and Highgate Cemetery are exceptional, and her intricate plot has great promise. Valentina’s soul hovers over the body and Robert sees the body begin to move and life flow through it once more.
It was especially lovely when they simultaneously give the finger to the television when George Bush is on. One doesn’t find much out about Martin except for the surface issues, but he is by far the most human of all the characters in symmetrry book.

But The Time Traveler’s Wife was one of niffenegge books – the kind that left me emotionally devastated and deeply satisfied at the same time. They make it look as if an asthma attack killed Valentina.

Having heard plenty of mixed reviews about this one, I wasn’t sure how I would find it. Maybe I just did’t get it, niffeneggerr sorry I wasted all that valuable reading time on that one.
I don’t have a problem with this kind of thing symmefry it can be pulled off, but here it seemed inelegant and clunky even lazy. A collection of the best contributions and reports from the Telegraph focussing on the key events, decisions and moments in Churchill’s life.

I doubt I would sanely accept someone telling me that. Gee, what this story needs is further complication. Julia takes Valentina’s spirit into her mouth along with the spirit of the Kitten, goes outside, lets her out and weeps for her lost sister. Audrfy of the lines of the novel point out love that is changed by death, but never broken.
Julia and Valentina become involved with their living neighbors: Beagle’s A Fine and Private Place, a wonderful book that actually combines the supernatural and the natural world beautifully, is still barely known. If you come to the book looking to be freaked out, you will be disappointed, for this is a strangely unspooky ghost story. As the girls become embroiled in the fraying lives of their aunt’s neighbors, they also discover that much is still alive in Highgate, including–perhaps–their aunt, who can’t seem to leave her old apartment and life behind.
