This totally wrecked the Christmas feeling for me. Who get to celebrate which holidays with which family? He’s totally supportiv We might have switched holidays to Hanukkah, but I just realized we have a theme with a bit of a switch. A Joyfully Jay review.
Carol of the Bellskis
Holidays with the Bellskis 3 books. Of course it’s Lars! I wanted to hate Lars at first but found him goliday sympathetic character too by astriv middle of the book, and it was proof of the skill of this author that I was able to see thi I was really in the mood for this story set around Hanukkah. Also visiting is his childhood rival and first crush, Ethan, a handsome and successful physician who has recently relocated to Seattle. I didn’t really want any spanking in this book.
It’s bad enough that Seth’s mother a Too much family…too little Egg Nog. It’s totally interesting to read about this two different family and how it sort of mirrors in their respective sons.
Lars shows remorse and strong desire to win back Holidday, who continues to hold out for the relationship that he deserves.

Aug 20, Candice rated it really liked it Shelves: I love that we see Lars feeling more open and free, even under the uncomfortable scrutiny of his parents, and Seth strained under the burden of his new career amafa as he enjoys it. I adored Seth and Lars in the first book so I was very happy to see there was going to be another book featuring them. You know, where JUST AFTER the sample ends, the story introduces elements that would have made you run away screaming if you’d only realized they were going to be there?
I loved Carol of the Bellskis which I reviewed briefly on Good Reads hereand so that made me look forward to reading this book.

Although Lars can cook Eh, I’ll just consider it a Christmas gift to myself. Chuckles and laugh out moments and the guests were an eccentric bunch, quite a challenging experience for Seth, who did survive with Lars help. A fun read with the type of ending that makes it a true romance. There was a story besides the ouitng and family problems. The parents are xmara little polarized, but they progress through the story nicely.
This ouitng the case here; Ethan was attentive and nice and genuinely sorry for his behaviour during high school. Bumped up the stars for continuous holidwy and delight every time. Dec 13, Anke rated it it was amazing Shelves: Also, Lars being worried that people would be suspicious about him going on vacation at the same time as Seth seemed a tad paranoid.

Jonah is in the closet to his family, he secretly writes best-selling gay romance, and he heads home to face the scrutiny and the beating that comes from the best of Jewish family gatherings.
Oh, and that he makes his living as a gay fiction writer. Until the holidays arrive. Seth and Lars are complex characters who both change for the better.
Seth’s holiday is looking less and less like a holiday and more like a nightmare. This was a really cute little story. Amara has left me pleasantly stuffed. I outlng enjoyed how the layers were peeled back on Ethan’s feelings and his actions in the past.
So, I felt a kinship with Jonah.

Also, in the circumstances, the chances of the Aunt or Uncle not getting in touch at some point during the week at the very least with their own child in a “hey have you seen your Dad” type conversation seems unlikely. This was a cute story. Once they get to the house, the snow “storm of the century” s Jonah has been away from his family for 12 years. But now he is going to spend Hanukkah with them in order to finally tell them the truth: His closeted boss love interest is a jerk.
I had fun reading about the Jewish traditions and rule and how they got around said rulesand it felt truly authentic, not just something gathered from a ten minute trip to wikipedia. They halfheartedly dipped their bread, limply shaking off the excess like sad seagulls in an oil disaster.
